FRx Fractional CO2 Laser
The FRx laser combined with unique fibre delivery technology takes fractional skin re-surfacing to the next level.
The FRx system is the only flexible fibre delivered CO2 laser in the world! This superfast and highly effective fractional CO2 laser is complemented by the comfortable and manoeuvrable MedArt® fractional scanner; this ergonomic design features simple controls for fast and precise parameter adjustments during treatments, enabling the operator to vary both scan density and pulse duration with ease.
Scanning technology with full ablative flexibility
The advanced MedArt scanner enables the user to individualise treatments by selecting pattern and density, size of treatment area, and time which controls depth of penetration. The scanner distributes the energy in a uniform pattern of spots, leaving islands of untreated skin between each ablated spot. The surrounding, untouched tissue facilitates tissue healing. The penetration depth ensures optimal collagen stimulation for contraction and remodelling.
The MedArt scanner does not only work in fractional mode; a special function for 100% ablative scanning for traditional resurfacing is integrated – switching between modes is quick and easy.
The scanner is ergonomic in design and the carefully balanced articulated arm makes it effortless to treat patients and avoid work fatigue. This easy-to-use equipment makes treatments fast and safe – without compromising the ability to individualize treatments by adjusting treatment pattern, density and time. Ease of use
The FRx laser with its unique fibre delivery and scanning technology is highly versatile and user friendly, it enables the operator to provide great results, tailoring fractional treatments to the requirements of individual patients. A full face treatment can be completed in less than 15 minutes with the FRx fractional CO2 with scanner, which can treat an area of 30 cm2 in just one minute.
By manipulating the simple controls on the MedArt® scanner, the spot density can be adjusted to low, medium, or high, and the pulse width varied from 2 – 7ms, to produce optimum results with minimal down-time.
The unique MedArt® scanning technology makes it possible to do very effective treatments with minimal surface ablation. The combination of a very small 165µm spot size combined with pulse widths of up to 7 msec enables the operator to limit epidermal damage, whilst depositing large amounts of heat into deeper tissue layers. The result is less visible downtime whilst maximizing treatment efficacy.

Technology
The emission from a CO2 laser is mainly absorbed by the water, which makes up 80-90% of dermal tissue. Laser of this wavelength has no specificity for vascular tissue and acts through non-specific surface ablation. Due to the very high degree of photon scattering within the tissue, there will be only limited thermal damage to the surrounding tissue.
Each pass of the laser causes immediate vaporization of the tissue together with formation of steam and smoke.
